About AVEkids
At The Avenue Church we exist to help you find your people and follow Jesus, and that starts in our Kids Ministry. We welcome all children ages birth through 5th Grade. It is our goal every week for them to feel welcome, loved and empowered by God.
In our Preschool rooms (Birth through Pre-K) we focus on teaching kids the basic truths of the Bible through worship, games and interactive teaching. We have created a special environment just for your kids to excel and learn the truth of God’s word their age level.
For Kindergarten through 5th Grade we have created a space where kids learn to love church and Jesus. This happens through over the top games, worship (which is lead by our Kids Worship Team), interactive Bible stories, and hands on learning in small groups.
We offer Special Needs one-on-one buddies for kids in all of our Kids environments. Our goal is to incorporate every child into a classroom that is developmentally and socially appropriate. We focus on having a consistent volunteer with each child so they can build a relationship with the child. We are also happy to work with parents to develop a unique plan for their child if their typical peer’s classroom is too overwhelming. This programming is available during the second service each Sunday.
Check-In
We love helping children develop a genuine love for Jesus, building their lives on the truth of God’s Word, connecting in meaningful friendships, and discovering their purpose at a young age.
Our team will be waiting at the check-in stations where you can tell us a little about your family. To prepare ahead of time, you can fill out the First Time Kids Check-In Form.
Safety
Your child’s safety is our first priority. All Kids and Preschool volunteers pass a background check. In addition, we use a security tag system for child check-in and pick-up, and a paging system for parents/guardians in case we need to reach you during the worship experience. In addition, we also have a safety team at every service to ensure your child’s safety.
Kids Baptism Class
At The Avenue church, we want every child to understand what baptism means and why it’s such an important step in following Jesus. That’s why we encourage all kids ages 8 and older who are ready for baptism to attend our Kids Baptism Class.
During this fun and meaningful session, kids will learn:
· What baptism is and why we do it
· Who should get baptized
· How to know if they’re ready
· How to share their testimony
Our goal is to help your child grow in their faith and take this exciting next step with confidence and understanding. We can’t wait to celebrate with them!
